About Us
A wonderful holiday base from which to explore West Gippsland
Renovating this 1936 cottage home has truly been a labour of love. So much so that we often joked the house had become our home away from home as we celebrated a hard weeks work on the front verandah of a Friday evening. The neighbours would laugh and comment, don’t you have a home to go to?
We have woven our love of gentle vintage together with our collection of modern pieces into the aesthetic of the home to create a space that’s calm, cosy, inviting and without pretence.
You’ll find the Cottage On Church fitted out with all the creature comforts you need for a short or long term holiday stay from memory foam pillow topped mattresses, comfy large sofas, pretty Bed Bath N’ Table and Pillow Talk linen, complimentary Netflix and WIFI, a modern kitchen, luxurious bathroom and much more.
Just a short 6 minute walk to the Drouin railway station and 8 minutes to Drouin’s main street to treat yourself to coffee at The French Pear, Thai takeaway from Drouin Thai, or a delicious crispy pizza from Jakks Pizza.
From Farmers Markets, winery tours or energetic hikes on the Rokeby Rail Trail to weekend snow visits to Mt Baw Baw, or visiting Yarragon, Cottage On Church makes the ideal base.
Whether your stay is for a brief weekend escape or for a longer, lingering vacation, it’s a place you can call home.
About Cottage On Church
Cottage on Church was originally built in 1936 and has undergone a few renovations in her time since then.
March 24th, 2023 became known as Demolition Day when we literally ripped everything out including the front verandah which was on its last legs!
Over the next 4 months we worked 7 days a week in a huge renovation adventure to bring this lovely old cottage back to feeling good again.
